2024 May 3 Warblerfest

Can you spot the Canada Warbler perching on the bar? This is a still from a video, so it’s not super clear. (Thanks Tim Jasinski for the help with ID)

I couldn’t even make breakfast yesterday. I’d put oil in the pan for eggs and see a flash of yellow hop down to the pond. I’d be starting to butter my toast and catch black and white stripes out of the corner of my eye. I’d fill my coffee, turn to find the milk and be like “Was that a Cape May Warbler?” Crazy. So I’m posting a day late. In two mornings I saw the following migratory birds:

-Yellow Warbler

-Black and White Warbler

-Canada Warbler

-Ruby Crowned Kinglet

-Warbling Vireo

-Yellow Rumped Warbler

-Cape May Warbler

-Northern Parula

-Chestnut Sided Warbler

-Bay Breasted Warbler

-Nashville Warbler

-Tennessee Warbler

-Blue Winged Warbler

-Least Flycatcher

-Baltimore Oriole

-Wood Thrush

-Swainson’s Thrush

-White Throated Sparrow

-Song Sparrow

-White Capped Sparrow

-Carolina Wren

-Ovenbird

These are most of the birds I only see seasonally. They love the pond, the native plants, and all the insects too! I wish I could post my videos on Blogger. It’s fun to see the little birds jump around.

The Yellow Warbler is so bright! Especially when he catches the sunlight. If I can figure out how to upload videos, I’ll post the cutest one of him drying off after a bath in the pond. You can see it at @Regenerative__Revolution on Instagram. (double underscore)
