2024 May 24 Blue-Eyed Grass

Yesterday as we were doing our evening scan of the gardens, Carli noticed these tiny blue flowers coming out of a patch of grass. I was so happy to see our old friend, Blue-Eyed Grass Sisyrinchium angustifolium! Three years ago I remember planting the tiny little grass-looking plant near the sidewalk in an attempt to remember that it was actually an intentionally planted grass. It looks just like a tall turf grass when not in bloom. I looked for two years and never saw it bloom again. I thought I had accidentally weeded it out the second year. What a happy find yesterday! I love it!
