2024 May 2 Kitchen Floor Update
After days of packing up the kitchen, moving furniture in and out, people in our home and overall stress, and money, it’s done. I give Carli a lot of credit for being home during it all. I know that wasn’t easy. I should have taken the days off work, but I’m taking 3 days next week to see my nephew Justin graduate from James Madison University, so I didn’t feel like I could. Tomorrow is a half day at school, so it feels like maybe that’s the best option to bow out and get some rest.
It’s done now, but our nerves are still shot. Big house projects suck. At least the kitchen looks good. For a while I was embarrassed by the state of the kitchen. I’d like to take a sigh of relief, but maybe that will just happen tomorrow. It is really nice.
It’s still bothering me to be told that kids teaching their classmates about their identities, history and culture is considered controversial. I have not been sleeping just thinking of what I would like to say to the people in charge. They decided the time Friday would be best spent for the kids to throw a baby shower for their teachers. I wonder if they got parent approval to celebrate their sexuality.
Here are some pictures of the kitchen:
