2024 April 7 Obsessed List

 Here is the current list of things I’m obsessed with:

1. Permaculture, regenerative practices, human interaction in the natural world, ancient sustainable practices, indigenous relationships in nature, modern humans in nature, off grid living, zero waste living, community living, compost, composting toilets

This blog follows my process from October 4, 2023 when I decided to dedicate all of my life to regenerative practices. These acorns will hopefully be a forest.

2. Reforestation. Miyawaki mini forests, sustainable forest management, food forests, the forest my neighborhood used to be, ion exchange, the Amazon rainforest, deforestation, individual trees and tree species, trees as wildlife hosts, the trees that the monarchs congregate in

3. Water retention, bioswales, rain gardens, retention ponds, water features in landscapes, groundwater, wells, the state of Lake Erie, graywater systems, groundwater, drainage, ephemeral pools

4. Time. My use of time, the lunar calendar, seasons, orbits of celestial bodies, other time structures, my personal life timeline and my place on it, the total solar eclipse 2024

5. Building an eco friendly studio multi-use space in place of the garage. Metal roof, gutters that lead to water retention, skylights and upper windows, a loft, ceramic tile floor, wood burning stove, a composting toilet, a sink, a work table on wheels, a pegboard for tools. tall ceiling, a screened in porch, French doors, a greenhouse like feel…

6. Migrations. Birds, butterflies, humans
