2026 July 18 Gardenwalk Lakewood

Today was my favorite day of the summer. I have opened up my garden since the first year of Gardenwalk Lakewood in 2022, and today was the day!. After a few days of getting the garden into shape (this year through the wildfire smoke!), so many great folks from the community drop in and we have excellent conversations. This year, old friends came through, new friends were made and good vibes were brought into the space. The smoke held off just for the tour. I’m exhausted but inspired to keep going in my journey to start a native plant nursery. There were quite a few inquiries about the plants I have started. I’m taking it as a good sign!

Lots of good blooms today!

Next year, Gardenwalk will feature the homes north of Detroit Road, so mine will not be on the walk. They had to split the map in half because so many people were involved! If the 70 from today is just half of the interested houses…we have some serious gardeners in this city!

My good friends Barbara Starre and Jim LaRue stopped by! Their home in Medina is beautiful with huge gardens and well-managed woods.

What a breath of fresh air, literally! The smoke is back this evening, so it really did clear up just for the event.

The Royal Catchfly Silene regia just started to bloom for Gardenwalk Lakewood!
